Park Hood has extensive experience of working with multi-discipline teams to deliver effective and efficient construction schemes from inception to completion. The principles of functionality, sense of place and whole life performance are central to the landscape designs produced by the Practice.
A clear understanding of the scheme intentions and requirements is established through regular client team meetings to expand the brief and ensure client involvement in all stages of design development. Client sign off on design proposals and cost plans at key stages is encouraged to ensure requirements are met throughout the project development. Particular emphasis is placed on approval of sketch scheme proposals to ensure the design team is progressing with an agreed scheme to detail design and ultimately construction level.
Project management of the design process is organized through regular design team technical meetings on a fixed programme to ensure all disciplines are fully involved in co-coordinated design development on an agreed timescale. Regular design reviews maintain confidence that a well considered and approved concept design can develop into a buildable scheme that meets end user requirements, statutory regulations, sustainability considerations and ongoing maintenance restrictions.
At Riddel Hall a full programme of design team and client meetings was set out to create a communication mechanism between client and design disciplines to manage the design process. Park Hood managed the Landscape design process through to construction with the provision of a full production information package.
On site works were managed through regular site meetings on a monthly basis, tied back to a full construction programme. The construction was supervised by a team within Park Hood to ensure a high standard of built finish within the programme timescale and scheme budget.
The scheme illustrated our ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team approach managed through an agreed programme of works to ensure all information is produced to meet the client’s requirement of carrying out construction works.
